Until recent years, it was considered one of the best-kept secrets of the Dominican Republic. Today, Saman\u00e1 is a favorite destination for both foreigners and nationals wishing to see the peninsula\u2019s natural and geographic diversity. Located 152 miles northeast of Santo Domingo, Saman\u00e1 combines gorgeous beaches with lavish nature– which you can see not only in the high mountains and waterfalls, but in the proliferation of small, heavenly, largely untouched islets.
